The first seeds of Alishan Organic Center were sown here in Saitama around Jack and Fay's kitchen table almost twenty years back now. Tengu Natural Foods was born out of a personal desire for organic granola, a desire (as it turned out) more than a few others shared. From these humble beginnings in organic food from-our-home-to-yours delivery, through the nurturance, care and feeding of so many, we've grown into our own. Alishan Pty. Ltd. began offering our wide range of organic products to wholesalers and shops across Japan in 1988. And still the root network continued to spread.

In spring of 2000, it was time for a transplant. The Alishan Organic Center (or Jack's Big Red Barn Complex) was built with the vision of housing not only the mail order and wholesale branches but also providing ample Space for activities, shows and events. From this grew the Alishan Cafe, where we proudly spotlight our products and local fresh garden produce and, on weekends, the Tengu Shop, which brings us round full circle in that magic cycle of natural growth...

We hope you'll be able to join us in some of our future adventures as we continue our efforts to make this world a healthier, happier place, one big red barn at a time.
